Yalla Dubai!

All the articles the media prints; showcases Dubai as some terrorist haven. A place where the cream of the terrorist training camps sit together and plan out annihilation strategies in their attempt of globalization.

I suspect each and every writer who portrays this image of Dubai; has not spent more than a day there. True, Dubai is home for many fugitives, but you have to respect the government cause they are not harboring terrorists; they’re encouraging privatization and competition(the building blocks of any growing economy). Their policies which invite businessmen to do what they do best is why most-wanted elsewhere becomes most sought-after in Dubai.

You have to admit; these fugitives are highly motivated, have surplus capital and are ofcourse, like all of us would like to earn a decent return. And just like most of us they also diversify their portfolio. Invest in some riskless assets and some more risky assets. So on one end they finance terrorism in some parts of the world and in other they invest in companies which sells electronics(at a retail level) imported at a tax-less cost from Singapore and Korea.

So why should the UAE government care about what these fugitives have been upto elsewhere in the world. Bottom line is, they don’t break the law in Dubai and they are contributing to the economy in a big way; Many of them run some of the fancies hotels in Dubai.

Here are 2 pics of Dubai taken 13 years apart.
